The Story Behind Millie Moose
Millie Moose was inspired by a lifelong love of Michigan summers. Growing up, my family spent every summer vacation on Torch Lake, a tradition that began in 1970. Those trips shaped my love for small lake towns, local boutiques, and the timeless style that comes with life on the Great Lakes.
I started my first business, Made by Megan, selling patchwork sweatshirts, after graduating from high school. While earning my degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Mississippi, I knew I wanted to turn my love of branding, creativity, and clothing into a boutique of my own.
Millie Moose is named after my sweet chocolate Labrador, Millie. Blending the charm of Midwest lake life with classic coastal style, Millie Moose offers thoughtfully curated pieces that feel effortless, timeless, and inspired by the places and memories that make summers on the Great Lakes so special. Today, Made by Megan continues to inspire my entrepreneurial journey.
While Millie Moose represents the next chapter of my entrepreneurial journey, I also plan to continue Made by Megan as an exclusive in-house collection. As the boutique grows, customers will be able to shop a curated selection of my original Made by Megan sweatshirts alongside carefully selected apparel and accessories, offering unique designs that can only be found at Millie Moose.
